Random Quote: Ordinarily, people are anxious to test their theories in practice, to learn from experience, but those who wield power are so anxious to establish the myth of their own infallibility that they turn their backs on the truth as squarely as they can. Politics means nothing to me. I don’t like people who are indifferent to the truth. – Boris Pasternak
A brief self-introduction: I like mathematics and programming, which is good because they occupy almost all of my waking hours, along with some of my dreams. Spare time is spent hanging out with my charming and delightful wife Cleo and our kids Nina and Finn, or drinking with my no good friends. I have a book buying habit, especially when it comes to maths books. I enjoy badminton, fishing, sailing, hiking and camping, as well as drinking beer and shiso-flavored shochu. Like my Dad, I am interested in world history and anything to do with the ocean. I have one sister Nicola Stachurski who is the smartest person I know, and two younger half brothers, Andrij and Roman. I used to my practice taekwondo moves on them but now they are both bigger than me. They tell me what music I should be listening to.
I ride a BMW F800R, an 800cc parallel twin that looks like a hooligan bike but is actually very smooth and beautifully balanced. The F800R is without doubt one of the best urban road bikes ever made. Sometimes I talk to it when we are alone in the garage.
